1 Exam down...

So on Saturday I wrote my CPA exam...So if anyone is wondering why I have not updated that would be it. Too much studying for my 'lil ol' head. I'm amazed how much of a difference there is between now and when I was 20, I remember all nighters, 3 exams in two days and going drinking the night before exams. Now I can barely get through one 3 hour exam. I guess the most important thing is that it is done, and I think I may have done ok... won't know for sure until next month sometime. Of course now I have to start studying for my Anthro course....

So lets see what have I been upto since my last post.... studying....studying some more...going shopping with Michelle and Adam... can you believe that they are pretty much done their X-mas shopping... and of course Michelle spent Saturday evening wrapping... while I sat on their couch drinking wine and being brain dead. On Friday, I bought Murphy a dog seat belt for the car... he wasn't too impressed when I tried it on him yesterday. He gave me the 'what are you doing to me' look, but was very good about it. I guess now I'll have to take him in the car some place to see how it works.

Lost the Frisbee...Almost

So last night I took the Murph dog to the park after work... It seems his paw is on the mend... sort of. He would definitely like me to think it doesn't hurt all that much, but I know better. Anyway, we did go to the park, I was starting to feel sorry for him, and we took the frisbee. On the first throw, he missed seeing where it went and we lost the frisbee. I figured that he would find it after a few minutes, but no. Here was my dog running all over the park like some mad snuffalupagus(spelling?), nose to the ground and still no frisbee. I kept sending him back telling him to find the frisbee, but to no avail. Acouple of minutes turned to 10 and still no sign of Murphy's favorite toy. I figured he was just being stupid, so off I went to show him where the frisbee was. But could I find it... no.... it had vanished. So we spent another 10 minutes or so looking for it, just when I decided that I had had enough and was about to just walk away, guess what miraclously appeared by my feet. The FRISBEE.... I could have screamed. Anyway, Murphy got to play with his frisbee and I got some piece, quite and snuggles when we got home, so in the end it was all good.

FREE AT LAST:)
So I'm at last free from the evil, evil, evil Bell Canada. I called them today after noticing some very disturbing billings going on and found out that they had had credit card debit problems. Which they failed to tell anyone about, so I had 2 payments in Sept, none in Oct. and double this month. Nice... So I kindly told them that their service sucked, well actually I really did tell them that it sucked and said that I was cancelling. Perfect timing as you need to give 30 days notice and guess when my contract is up... you guessed it in 30 days. I'm soooo happy... yeahhhh me :)

Monday Again...

Where do the weekends go? It seems just yesterday that the weekend was starting and now I'm sitting at work again. This weekend was full of studying :( playing Trivial Pursuit till 3am :) manicures :) more studying :( and my dog managing to ruin my manicure and break his own nail :( Oh well, that's the way it goes. Murphy's nail is pretty bad, he managed to crack the whole thing, I noticed it Sunday evening, we were sitting on the couch and I moved and he whined. Not his usual big sigh that I was disturbing him, but an actual whine, so I took look and saw that his one nail was all broken and he didn't want me touching it. My poor puppy, he's even limping when he walks. Of course that didn't stop him wanting to go to the P A R K, but I wouldn't take him because I didn't want to aggrevate the problem. We only went for a short walk this morning, he limped along until we got close to the little park then he seemed better. Mmmmmm I wonder if he thought if he acted ok that I would throw the ball for him, well I wouldn't and I didn't even have the ball so too bad for him.

No More Peanut Butter before Sleeping

I am very much aware that there are certian foods that if eaten before sleeping gives me nightmares. Case in point peanut butter, I had just returned from the P A R K with the d o g and was feeling peckish. So I made myself some english muffins with peanut butter, yummy peanut butter goodness... However, right after eating I was suddenly extremely tired, so I decided to have a nap. A nice relaxing nap, which quickly turned to attack of the zombies from an alternate universe, and yes one managed to get through the door into our reality and began zombifying everyone. Nice plot line for a bad zombie movie, but not the most relaxing theme for a nap. Needless to say I was not well rested when I woke up. This theme of being tired continued into today. I did not sleep very well last night. I closed my eyes, I opened my eyes, I closed my eyesI think the pattern is becoming clear. When my alarm went off at 6, I almost hit the ceiling, since I had actually been asleep at the time. So today was long and the head and body aches that I have really haven't helped. Poor Murphy, he didn't get to go to the P A R K, he's a sad puppy :( But I must admit that he is being very good about it all, he's not realy bugging me and is just hanging out on the couch with me.

Maybe he feels guilty for cracking me in the head on Sat. night. We were playing with his squeaky and he had put it in front of me and was bending over it, so I went to pick it up and he brought his head up right at the same time and nailed me right in the chin. My dog has a very hard head. but it doesn't end there, on Sun. while playing frisbee with Murphy I went to pick up the frisbee and got nailed in the side of the head by another dog. No wonder I had a headache today. Wahhhhh for me.... okay enough of that. I'm behind on the list so here's the next 50:

I've got to catch up....

Iam now officaial behind... on everything... I was going to start studying, I was going to clean up the apartment, I was going to take the dog to the park more, I was going to update my list.... but nooooooo Beyond Good and Evil came between all of that. But hey, to look on the positive side I finished it... so there at least I finished something this weekend.

This weekend has been pretty uneventfull, except for Thursday, I went out with Michelle and Adam (go figure) and meet 2 of Michelle's sisters - only 2 of her many siblings. We went to Spring Rolls for dinner and it was amazing. Lots of great food for little money. I was stuffed. Then we decided to go see The Incrediables... it was amazing too. A lot of fun had by all. On Friday I went and got my hair done. At Peter Anthony's in Yorkville no less... I managed to be in the right place at the right time to get in on a promo deal... I get my hair washed, conditioning treatment, cut and style, then if I want I can also have 25% off highlights on my next visit. You are probably all wondering how much this all cost me... well first I'm not finished with what I get. I also get a full facial, head neck shoulder scalp massage and eyebrow waxing and on a second visit a light facial etc..... all for $55 a savings of almost $400. Of course my hair doesn't look all that different, it's just been shaped and thinned out a little, it feels a whole better, not as heavy. All the stylists were complementing me on the colour... it was weird since I do my own colouring. Anyway it was quite the experience, good thing I won't need another cut for about 3 months, that's about how long it will take me to save up enough to go there again. :ppppppp
Last night when I took the Murphy head out for a walk, I walked 3 whole blocks without using my cane, I was so impressed, I didn't think I could go that far. Tonight I only made it 2 blocks, but still I am pretty happy about that, alittle sore but happy.

Okay... I was going to add the next installment of the 200 things I've done, but it doesn't seem to want to let me paste it in... oh well maybe I can figure it out tomorrow... it's late (early depending on how you look at it) and maybe I should just go to bed.

My New Phone Works

Yeahhhhhhh my new phone actually works in my apartment... and it doesn't seem to be a fluke. I have had 3, count them 3 phone calls (from Michelle incindently - she must be the only one who loves me ;ppppp) and I have been inside when it rang and was actually able to talk to her. I was even sitting on my couch for the last call... now that is amazing... even though I was a little distracted as I was playing crack... beyond good and evil... and was trying to get into the slaughterhouse... so Michelle if I sounded rude or distracted well that's why...sorry :)... of course right after talking to her I managed to hit all the right buttons and made it in. Anyway my phone works and I'm so happy, I've now set up my voicemail and transfered everybody's numbers into my phonebook. I'm all set.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Another Boring day at Work....Blahhhh

Okay, so these long boring days at work seem to be happening more and more. I'm thinking that people are forgetting that they need to run their payrolls. This is would normally be considered a very busy week for us as it is a semi week(for all those who know nothing about payroll that means payroll paid on the 15th and 30th - should be running this week for paydate on Monday). But no.... there is nothing to do. Of course it could become absolutely crazy after lunch...but at the moment it is d e a d - dead. I'm so bored that I can barely concentrate on what to write here. I just want to go to sleep. Mmmmmmm sleep.... speaking of, I didn't get all that much last night, damn that Beyond Good and Evil. I know have to go to bed but I just can't stop. It's crack, crack I tell you. Well at least I'm not the only one, Michelle said that she was on the final world of Primal, so that means she's been playing non-stop. And of course not getting any work done... did I say crack....

Oh yeah.... my phone works in my apartment.... it rang - really loud, scared the hell out of me, so I ran outside to answer it (force of habit) and then slowly walked back inside - can you hear me now? - and it worked. I was so excited, thanks to Michelle for calling and for coming over and hanging out at the park with me and the dog. We had quite the following who all wanted a piece of Murphy's frisbee. Murphy was pretty tired when we got home, he promptly came in the house and went straight for the couch where he sat for a few minutes then he went straight to bed. But of course by 8 or so he felt somewhat recovered, though he didn't really pester me, so I figure he was still tired and was just doing it out of habit.

Lemony Bubbles

So when I got home from taking Murphy out after work last night, I notice this lemon smell in the apartment. Now I have a vanilla scented air freshener which makes my apartment smell all baking goodness, but last night there was an lemon overtone to it. I wasn't quite sure why, until I went to wash my hands,(no matter how hard I try they still get dirty when playing with the dog), into the bathroom I went and to my surprise there was a magnitude of foamy bubbles in my bathtub and toilet. Very odd to say the least. I have a feeling that the dishwasher upstairs was not running properly and I managed to recieve lots of lemony bubbles through the drain. It was only the toilet and the tub.... none of the sinks had bubbles. It was easily remedied, I just washed them back down the drain, and no more bubbles.

On another note I recieved my new phone.... it is tiny. Kinda cool, but tiny. Everyone will be recieving an email with my new phone number and it will be added to my voice mail on my old phone until it's service is done. I had to call and have them change the number already. They gave me a dreaded 647 # and I was having none of that. So I called this morning and they (Rogers) was very nice and changed it right there and then. So I must say, I have no complaints on switching.

Snow????!!!!!!!!!

So on the news this morning what did I see... SNOW.... uggggggggggg Well I guess I shouldn't complain, there was none at my house and I didn't see one flake coming to work. Anyway, I managed to have a very uneventful weekend, how unusual ;ppp. My weekend up north was quite and relaxing, I helped my mom out, as she was having problems with acid reflex and her hiatus hernia... she was in alot of pain. Even gave her a nice shoulder massage before leaving on Sunday, she told me that I haven't lost my touch. Yeahhhhh, since I am still thinking of reactivating my certification next month. She thinks I would be able to do 15 and 20 min. massages just to get back in the swing of things and get my confidence back up. Hey at least it would be a little extra money in the bank, and money is always good.

The drive back yesterday was much better than the drive down, the weather was nice and the roads were fairly clear. Got home in plenty of time to put up my new red LED lights around my apartment entrance, alittle extra light there is a good thing. I also ran my new coaxial cable for my tv and got my surround sound set up again. It's amazing what you can do with packing tape. Then of course we had to go to the P A R K so that Murphy could have some crack, I mean play with his frisbee (no my dog is not addicted to drugs, well I guess if you don't count frisbees as drugs) because he was such a good boy in the car on the trip back. I even made lemon garlic chicken breasts with roasted garlic on top for dinner/lunch. Mmmmmmm now I can't wait for lunch..... and I even managed to have time to play some Beyond Good and Evil (speaking of crack) I blame Michelle. And to top it all off, when I went to bed they were playing Skinny Puppy's Dig it on the radio... what a day.

A Whole Wack of Recipes

Yesterday I took the milk run up to my parents. I was nice enough to take my neice, Christin, up to Meaford, unfortuntely it is miles out of my way and took forever. Sorry to say, but I don't think I'll be doing that again any time soon. I don't think it would have been as bad if we could have left earlier in the day. We left at 2:30 and the traffic on the DVP and the 401 was already starting to get bad. Though I have to admit the traffic on the 400 was no where near as bad as I thought it was going to be, except for the cop who was tailing me for 20 min(and no I was not speeding - for once), there wasn't much of a hassel.

Earlier in the day I managed to get down to the school and drop off my form so that I can take my Anthropology 100 exam in the accessiblity office where I get an adjustable desk, can use my Obus, take breaks and even take drugs...(Advil or Tylenol you guys). The only real downer is that the exam is on a Tuesday night, from 7-9pm but shouldn't be too hard as it is all multiple choice... mmmmm 1st year courses.... and if anyone is wondering... no I haven't been to anymore classes and don't plan on it in the future... I'll be going to my two tutorials and the exam thank you very much. Michelle also came over before I headed out for town and we (here it comes - as Michelle pointed out I always mention something about the d o g) took Murphy out to the park, stopping at the Tim's to get much needed coffee on the way there. Between the 2 of us Murphy played with his frisbee, which Michelle was returning as she managed to take it home with her on Wed., for half an hour. I have to admit that my dog is quite comical. While we were playing he would take the frisbee to Michelle even though I had the frisbee glove and was throwing it for him, and of course when Michelle was throwing it he would bring it to me. He does love his crack, I mean frisbee. And of course he is just so hard done by. The play wore him out a bit and he was very well behaved in the car on the very long drive up north.

Today I managed to get some errands done. Picked up some new coaxial cable for my TV, new printer cartridge and some new fleecy pants... mmmmmmm fleecy....... tomorrow before I leave I'll pick up some groceries to take back with me. Í really need to do groceries... especially now that I have just copied a bunch of recipes from my dad's French and Italian Light cook books. Lots of yummy things, lots of things with garlic in them... mmmmmm garlic..... I guess one of these days I will have to get ambitious and invite some people over for dinner, might have to wait until I get a new couch, so I have somewhere for people to sit. Of course I don't know if people would want to come for dinner if they knew I was cooking ;ppppppp I can cook believe it or not. I think this week I might try Michelle's recipe for Irish Stew, my mom gave me a great tip for this sort of thing. Instead of leaving it on the range (since I don't have a slow/pressure cooker) I could put it in the oven with a lid and do it that way. It won't be any faster but it will work just the same and it will not stick to the bottom of the pan. So we shall see if this works or not.

I Need a Bigger Couch...

So thank you to everyone (Michelle and Christian) who took Murphy out for me while I was laid up on my way too small couch. I have started to increase my exercise and of course yesterday I was paying for the first two days of it. I have decided to walk up and down the hill at the park, works out the quads, hamstrings and the good ol' butt muscles which I have none of, and to do yoga every night. Also I am trying to do an hour of school reading a night, since I've only been to half of one class and haven't really even opened the book, with a mid-term coming on Dec. 14th I figured I should at least have a look at it. It's a good thing that the profs put their powerpoint presentations on-line.

Anyway, I came to work early this morning for training that was to include contenital breakfast, coffee etc. and to my dismay it had been cancelled. Debbie and I wondered around the Radisson trying to figure out where we were supposed to be, so being the smrt girls that we are we asked at the front desk just to be told that it had been cancelled. Good thing that the hotel is right beside the office, so that we could come here and sign in on time. Well at least I get to go home at my regular time. Though I was asked if I wanted to leave work today and come in tomorrow for the training, well that would have been all fine and dandy if I didn't have to drive to Meaford and then onto Owen Sound tomorrow. We are already leaving later then I would like since Christian does not get done school until 2pm. I also have to drop off my exam sheet to the disablity office at the school so that I can write my exam in a comfy location.

Thanks to Michelle for bring over Beyond Good and Evil, which I started last night, very fun. I hope that you enjoy Primal.. which I managed to finish while she was out at the park with Murphy. Although Michelle managed to run off with Murphy's favourite park toy... his frisbee... so maybe she'll just have to come by this afternoon and return it so that Murphy can enjoy his visit to the park all the more. I'm home at 3:30.... ;pppppppppppp

In the End the Stupidity Won

I can not express how angry I am right now, I came back to my desk just before lunch to hear that Kerry had conceeded the election. Now I admit I figured that Bush would win in the end but I didn't think that Kerry would give up so easily. I actually fill sick to my stomach, if I was American (thank you whoevers out there that I'm not) I would be embarassed and ashamed. The downward slide is sure to hit rock bottom at any moment and the fact that the population of the US chose that for themselves scares me. Talking about things that scare me, I read an article this morning saying that some of the religous right in the US see Bush as a "messenger from God". Messenger from God, next they'll be calling him the fucking second coming of Christ. Bush is no prophet in any sense of the term. I feel sorry for those who truely wanted change and a better America, the fact that all 3 states that were directly affected by the 9/11 tragedy voted for Kerry is a telling sign of the want and need for change in the Whitehouse. Anyway, I'll have to end my rant here as lunch is over and I have to get back to work.

All Hail the Stupitity.....

So last night I headed over to Michelle's to watch the US election coverage... I had a grain of hope that the Americans would finally see the light and decide it was time to change things down there. But it would seem that I was giving them a little too much credit. Anyway, at the moment the results have not been finalized but it would seem that it is going to fall in favour of Bush. As John Stewart said if Bush is re-elected at least this time he actually won - well that might be up for arguement as there have been some rumblings about the evoting... but hey what can a poor Canadian like myself do about it. At least we did have some comic relief during the evening... including Adam chasing away the racoons in a "manly fashion" - please insert finger flexions (Michelle) - the gnomes from Zurich comment, Rev. Sharpton's comments, especially how he knew some people who would help George move out of the White House - possible visit to his house today from the secret service - and of course rageahol (spelling) the idea of hybrid cars running on gas and pent up rage...

Of course another reason for going over was to borrow Beyond Good and Evil and to pick up my devil horns... which incidently I forgot to bring home with me.... that's so me. I tried to have Primal finished last night night because Michelle would like to give it a go. But unfortunately I'm finding it harder then expected to finish off the last bad guys. Blahhh I'll give it another try tonight. But before doing that I will have to make up for going out and leaving the Murph dog for 4 hours. He was so sulky when I got home last night. He did the usual really happy to see me dance then promptly ignored my existance until I got out his bedtime treat and placated him with head scratches... then I was his best friend again. Like I've said so many times before, he is so hard done by.

Nothing to do at Work - So I created a Blog

Since I have nothing better to do at work today I decided to start blogging. (I blame Michelle) Why not... everyone else is doing it... Like I said there is nothing to do at work today... I've been staring out the windows hoping that the crapy rainy weather will have finished by the time I get home tonight... I have one crazy dog who will want to go to the P A R K no matter what. Especially today because we did not go for our morning walk as it was pouring at 6am. Poor guy, you would think that he was hard done by.
